Pastor Micheal J. Denson, Sr. is the spiritual leader, sent by God to shepherd Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church members to the next level of spiritual growth and development.

         Praising and serving God is not new to Pastor Denson. Growing up in a Christian home, he accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Pilgrim AME Church under the spiritual guidance of Pastor M. C. Cooper. He served faithfully at Mount Pilgrim for more than 30 years under multiple pastors. Heeding the voice of God, while at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, he answered “Yes Lord” in March of 2012 under the leadership of Pastor Vernon E. Wright. 

He was ordained the following year and served humbly and faithfully as Associate Minister, assisting Pastor Wright in multiple facets of the church. Pastor Wright spent countless hours mentoring Reverend Denson in preparation for his calling. 

         For a season Pastor & Lady Denson led the congregation at East Mount Olive Baptist Church until God ordered his steps back home and eventually to Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. They became the God-ordained spiritual leaders of Pleasant Grove in August of 2018.

Micheal Denson attended Coldspring High School, graduating in 1985. Upon graduation, he began his career in the rail industry. Pastor Denson has benefited tremendously from extensive leadership positions in this field and is currently employed as Senior Field Inspector with Wells Fargo Rail.
